Dinner with the Kurtz family

Had dinner with Shelly and Nate in their fantastic house in West Seattle. They've come along a bit since their Delridge beginnings, let me tell you. Of course, I took my camera. Here's a picture of their house.

I of course took a picture of Fischer, their lab. I still remember her as a puppy, now of course she's already had an old lady with a knee operation.

New Nike+iPod (without the Nike)

So I had to be an early adopter again. This thing is the coolest invention yet. It combines geekiness and running. What a great fit for me! I got strapped the kit to my New Balance 766s with velcro (ala Mr. Podophile) and off I went. I first calibrated it around a track, then ran the outside loop of Greenlake in Seattle. This should be a 3.1 miler...

drop off in time.. ha! Quick conclusion after one use - I liI was feeling great and pushed the normal pace. I got finished and stopped the iPod. I was constantly looking down at my shoe to make sure the transmitter didn't fall out - but it didn't. At the end of the workout - I forgot to actually "end the workout", which is why you'll see theke it. I don't like that I can't share this website results with my friends though... I'll have to write apple or nike. Check out the screen print below. It wasn't as accruate as I would hope though. It should be 3.1 but it checks out about 2.85 miles. I did run a slower 400 meters for calibration... I'll get back to you guys on this.

Gabe's and Nicole's birthday party

Wow - it was a hot day in July (again) for this party. We had a pool, we had kids, and I had my camera. I've selected only a couple of the photos for this album. For more photos - let me know or let me know if there's a photo you want in higher resolution for enlargement/printing.

Tri's Running Log

I've just added a link to the right "Tri's Running Log" that details how my training is going. For you fellow runner's - it's a pretty easy tool to use.

OR you can click here for the link.

Here's a new post for the new website in test.
