Yes I have achieved an was an unbelievably lucky event. A hole in one.  It was at Washington National Golf course in Auburn, WA. (Home of Husky Golf).  It was the 8th Hole, par 3, 153 yards out.  I had my 6 iron in hand.  It was cleanly hit, going directly at it in the air.  I'm thinking, damn, that's a fine shot.  It bounced on the green once and started rolling about 15 feet toward the hole.

Not really a  post, but wanted to vent my frustration.  Don't stay there.  We asked for a transfer from the airport to the hotel which is maximum 1000 THB or even 500 THB for a cab, and they charged us 2000 THB.  Their staff were even amazed but their management refused to budge.   The room we got had a faulty air conditioner too.  For the "higher end" type of hotel we expected as we paid about

We went and golfed at the Royal Chiang Mai golf course where the Asian PGA is played. For about $110 total (including greens fees, caddy, cart) we had a fantastic time. Our caddies were all short excitable Thai women. I don't think they golfed a day in their lives but they knew how the greens played and the course layout. The course was completely unprepared for us as they ran out of Singha beer.

Wow. Ko Samui was a rough one for all of us. But we've moved onto to Chiang mai where our accomodations so far haven been great. It's definitely an upgrade from backpacker-ville of Samui. This last weekend, I went to Vancouver BC to cheer on Christina who was running in the Vancouver Half Marathon with her Team in Training group. I haven't been up to the cabin since the first weekend that we took possession (in Sept 2006). Christina and I went up for the weekend (Jan 26-27) before I take off on my Patagonia and Antarctica expedition. It was a clear but cold weekend out there. I recently went up to Anchorage for work and stayed the weekend with my friends Mike and Barabara. They graciously put me up. So I had to be an early adopter again. This thing is the coolest invention yet. It combines geekiness and running. What a great fit for me! I got strapped the kit to my New Balance 766s with velcro (ala Mr. Podophile) and off I went. I first calibrated it around a track, then ran the outside loop of Greenlake in Seattle. This should be a 3.1 miler...drop off in time.. ha! Quick conclusion
